The Beatles live because they're music was revolutionary. It inspired generations to practice peace and, they were taught to "Give Peace A Chance" and followed in "The Beatles" footprints, which were pretty big in the 60's. They influenced whole nations to fight against war, not to support it, and not to cause it.
A lot of artist today draw influence from "The Beatles" and they will never forget them. The World will never forget them. "The Beatles" are to rock music as Michael Jackson is to pop music. No matter how long "The Beatles" haven't made music they're music still seems to stick generation after generation. It may not have the same influence it had on teens in that decade, but it affects people now.
They're contribution on a national scale was not one of money, or even just music. But, a contribution to a nation's culture and view on global warfare.

Meet The Bugs
John Lennon was "The Beatles" Rythm Guitarist. On the evening of Monday, December 8, 1980, forty-year-old John Lennon was shot four times in the back in the entrance hallway of the Dakota, by Mark David Chapman.
Paul McCartney was "The Beatles" Bass Guitarist. He is aged 67 and alive and well.
Geoge Harrison was "The Beatles" Lead Guitarist. He Died of Cancer on 29 November 2001.
Ringo Starr was "The Beatles" drummer, replacing Pete Best.Starr is well and alive living in Liverpool, Merseyside, England at the age of 69.
Getting Together
"The Beatles are an English Rock Band that was formed in Liverpool in the 60's. In 1962 the group consisted of John Lennon, who was rythm guitarist, Paul McCartney, he was bass guitarist, George Harrison, who was lead guitarist, and Ringo Starr, who later joined the group as drummer, all of them did vocals.
But before The Beatles, John Lennon formed "The Quarrymen", which consisted of Lennon, McCartney, and Harrison along with some of Lennon's friends. Then, Lennon's schoolfriends left the band, and the three played whenever a drummer was available. Stuart Sutcliffe one of Lennon's friends that joined in January as bass suggested that the band changed it's name to "The Beetles" giving tribute to The Crickets and Buddy Holly, and they became "The Beatals" for a few months after trying a variety of names such as, "The Silver Beatles", "Johny and the Moondogs", and "Long John and The Beetles". In August they officially became, "The Beatles".
The band hired Pete Best, as a drummer because of a booking in Hamburg, Germany arranged by Alan Williams, their unofficial manager. Sutcliffe left the band to study in Germany. Now, Bert Kaempfert contracted, "The Beatles" as Tony Sheridan's backing band on a number of recordings. The band then hired Brian Epstein as manager in 1962, Kaempfert had agreed to release the band from the German record contract. Later, the band was rejected by Decca Records, but was signed to EMI's Parlophone label. When they returned home they recieved news that Sutcliffe had died, from a brain hemorrhage.
The band first recorded under Martin's direction at Abbey Road Studios in London in June 1962. Martin complained to Epstein about Best's drumming and suggested the band use a session drummer in the studio. Instead, Best was replaced by Ringo Starr. Starr, who left "Rory Storm and the Hurricanes" to join "The Beatles".

Their Influence: A Real Revolution
The Beatles are probably the most influential group that music has ever produced, both for other musicians and for culture and society in general.
You will probably find more artists that refer to the Beatles as an influence than any other group. They started the "British Invasion" in the U.S., and were followed by a lot of other bands like “The Kinks”, “The Who”, “The Rolling Stones”, and others.
In a cultural view, the Beatles catered to the huge group of teens of that era, who were just beginning to come into their own. A lot of their later albums carry songs about individuality and rebellion, songs like “Revolution”, and “Come Together”. This helped them become one of the main role models of a cultural revolution in the 1960's pertaining to the Vietnam War. Lennon especially took an active role in protests against the war, and war in general, with songs like "Give Peace a Chance" and Imagine". John and the Beatles already outrageously popular caused many many young people to follow in their footsteps, singing their songs at war protests.
Their music and lifestyles also helped give rise to the popularization of drugs in the 1960s. Other artists had used drugs with public knowing, but the Beatles were the first to admit it to the press. This state of mind and influence on the teens, and people all over the world still remains, and I don’t think it’ll ever disappear.
